Old Master Works on Paper
from the Collection
on view through March 9, 2008
"Old
Masters" is a term that is used to describe artists of considerable
talent, usually the premier artist in a workshop or guild, working up
until about 1800. A selection of these master artists, including Rembrandt,
Albrecht Dürer, Guido Reni, Francisco Goya, and Canaletto, is on
view in the Works on Paper Gallery in the Museum. Image credit: MARCANTONIO RAIMONDI, The Virgin with the Long Thigh, 1520-25, engraving on paper |
