The Saga and the Journey of the Ant Bully #2

An active and vital area of the museum’s holdings, the regional collection is generously supported by purchases with the Docent Art Fund (DAF). Established by the museum’s volunteer guides, this fund has two aims: 1) to acquire works that will be appealing to children and interesting for Docents to present and 2) to acquire works by regional artists. Tarrence Corbin, professor of art at the University of Cincinnati, is nationally recognized for his monumental hard-edge abstractions. His acrylic painting The Saga and the Journey of the Ant Bully #2 is a dense configuration of vibrantly colored geometric shapes that teases the viewer’s perception.
