Arboretum & The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky
Team Up for Summer gARTening Camps!
Looking
for something fun and varied for your children or grandchildren to do
this summer? Sign them up for a week of exploration and fun inside and
outside, on the grounds of The Arboretum and The Art Museum.
Each week includes creativity-filled discoveries of nature and art.
Students will spend mornings at the Art Museum and afternoons at the
Arboretum. Transportation provided from the Art Museum to the Arboretum;
students bring their own lunch.
Flowers,
Wings, & Crawling Things (Ages 6 – 8)
June 16 – 20 (Monday – Friday)
9 am–4 pm
Inspired by flowers, birds, and bugs, you’ll create whimsical
three-dimensional works from wire, plaster, and paper and embellish
them with paint,
feathers, and other fun things. In the afternoons you’ll discover
a
world of delights in the garden, from fairy gardens to flower pressing,
insect identification to bird-watching.

Shape
of Art, Shape of Nature (Ages 9 – 12)
June 23 – 27 (Monday–Friday)
9 am–4 pm
Get inspired by the beauty of the world around you. Look into art in
the museum and art in nature to find and create our own wonderful works
of art. Along the way, you’ll get to know the native plants,
animals, and landscapes of Kentucky.
