1: Silurian dolomites on Mountain Parkway, 10 miles west of Clay City,
KY.
Stop 2. Devonian shales at Clay City, exit 16 on Mountain Parkway.
Stop 3. Junior Williamson Rest Stop. Ask the staff for a copy
of the trail map, free.

4. Mississippian Borden Formation along Route 15, one mile east
of Stop 3.
Stop 5. Paleokarst in Mississippian Slade Fm limestones beneath Pennsylvanian
Lee/Breathitt sandstones along the Mountain Parkway.
Stop 6. Pennsylvanian Lee Formation at Rock House, on Rock Bridge trail.
Stop 7. Pennsylvanian Lee Formation at Rock Bridge.
Stop
8. Pennsylvanian Lee Formation sandstones at Sky Bridge overlooking the
Red River Gorge.
Stop 9. Moonshiner's Arch - Mississippian limestones with chert and
fossils deep in the Red River Gorge.
Stop 10. Mary Jane Cave - Mississippian limestones in a popular (and
narrow) cave near Moonshiner's Arch.
Stop 11. Bell Falls - Pennsylvanian conglomerates in a paleovalley
fill cutting through the Mississippian Limestones down to Borden Formation.
Stop 12. Pinch 'em Tight Trail
Guide - a closer look at the ridgetop sandstones of the Pennsylvanian Lee Formation.
