The Permian Period

The Permian Period lasted about 55 million years. It was about 280 to 225 million years ago. At the beginning of this period invertebrates filled the land. As time passed toward the end of the period there was a great extinction. It was almost the end of invertebrates. 90% of all invertebrates died. Scientists still can't figure out what caused it.
