Quality Enhancement Program

Purpose of QEP

A new category of internal funds, Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) funds, was earmarked in the University of Kentucky budget in response to the primary recommendation of the 2002 Presidential Task Force on Institutional Effectiveness. The recommendation was to provide “a university-wide Quality Enhancement Funding Program to support program improvement plans based on meaningful assessment results and communicate the existence of this program broadly to campus constituencies.” In addition to the development of a pool of funds for the first time in 2003/2004, a priority focusing on student learning outcomes was established.
