Student Help and Resources

Student Home > Online Learning Readiness > What resources and help are available to me?

There are several places where online students can find help for the particular problems that they encounter.

UK IT Customer Service Center
If your instructor has been unable to assist you with your technology question or problem, the Customer Service Center may be able to assist you. Their hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may leave a phone message at (859) 257-1300 or an e-mail at helpdesk@uky.edu at any time to have a customer service representative contact you.

For 24/7 Blackboard support you can call toll-free 1-877-708-2933 or visit the Blackboard Online Support Center:

Information Literacy Tutorials
Information Literacy broadly encompasses the recognition that information is needed and includes developing the skills to find, analyze, critically evaluate and use the information found. The ability to use current technology is related to Information Literacy but does not take its place. Incorporating information technology skills, including the ability to use computers, software, and databases, allows an information literate individual to navigate the copious amount of information available. Gaining the skills that lead to information literacy will support current academic pursuits and contributes to lifelong learning. To start on the road to information literacy, take a few minutes and use the FindIt! Information Literacy tutorial:

Instructional Accommodation
If you have a documented individual learning requirement which requires academic accommodations, please contact your instructor as soon as possible. In order to receive accommodations in a Distance Learning course, you must provide your instructor with a Letter of Accommodation from the Disability Resource Center. If you have not already done so, please register with the Disability Resource Center (Room 2 Alumni Gym, 257-2754, jkarnes@uky.edu) for coordination of campus accommodation services available to students with disabilities.

Distance Learning Programs
Questions about Distance Learning programs and courses, delivery modes, extended-campus sites, access and support services for distance learning students should be directed to the Distance Learning Programs website:
