My browser screen is flashing and Blackboard doesn't load.
If your browser screen flashes (particularly the URL location box at the top), this is a good sign that you've either forgotten 1) to include ad or mcbefore your username or 2) to use a backslash \ rather than a forward slash /. You can find the backslash character on your keyboard just above the Enter or Return key.


I am being asked to reconcile.
Most users will not need to reconcile, but if you have to reconcile repeatedly, you may have neglected to complete the process by logging out of Bb (button in upper righthand corner) and also shutting down your browser. For more information about reconciling, see the Active Directory Account FAQ.


I need to change my AD/MC/Exchange password.
Your AD/MC password expires every 90 days. Bb will NOT notify you of password expiration. If you suddenly cannot log into Bb as usual, try changing your password.

You can easily change your AD/MC/Exchange password at the Blackboard Password Manager (opens in a new window). Follow the directions below to change your password.

  1. In the Domain box, choose the type of account you have (AD or MC).
  2. In the Account box, put your active directory or medical center username.
  3. In the Old Password box, put your current password.
  4. In the New Password box, put a new secure password conforming to the rules at http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/Accounts/activedirectory.html#passwd_rules (opens in a new window).
