Research Interests |
| I am currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology with specializations in (1) Crime, Law, and Deviance, (2) Research Methods, Design, and Analysis, and (3) Medical Sociology and Mental Health. Of particular interest are young females who are struggling with navigating the changing role expectations between youth, adolescence, and adulthood. |
Current Projects |
| I am working on a project with Tanja Link and Nathan Lowe examining the roles taken by juvenile court judges in their courtroom. Judges are generally in two camps, one being the concerned parent who is focused on rehabilitation of the young offender and the other focused on punishing the offender. |
| |
| Another project I am working on with Brea Perry uses the multi-site, longitudinal data from the Collaborative Study on the Genetics of Alcoholism. We plan to test hypotheses regarding the transmission of alcohol expectancies from parents to children, and identify protective factors that mediate the effects of alcohol expectancies on drinking behavior. |
