The Champions for Women Endowment Campaign
The Center had a fundraising effort underway to complete two endowed chairs on the study of violence against women. The first of those chairs would honor former State Senator Georgia Davis Powers. To advance the fundraising for this project, a women's luncheon was held May 17th, 2011 in Louisville at the Brown Hotel.

Announcement of Senator Georgia Davis Powers Endowed Chair
Former Kentucky Senator Georgia Davis Powers will be honored by the Center with an endowed chair in her name. The chair, along with Powers' gift of papers and other memorabilia to the University, was announced December 3, 2010. Following the announcement Senator Powers spoke about her experiences in the Civil Rights Movement and on being the first woman and first African-American member of the Kentucky Senate.

The Faces & Voices of Women: Art for Women's Sake
The Center hosted a reception for an extraordinary exhibit of work by artist michelle y williams December 3, 2009. The collection gave voice to the experience of violence in a woman's life and the triumph of recovery. All works were donated by michelle and 100% of sales benefited the Center's mission.

Kicking Up Your Heels
Laser Perfect Med Spa presents Kicking Up Your Heels benefiting the University of Kentucky Center for Research on Violence Against Women. The event was held in Bellini's historic Grand Ballroom March 25, 2011.

Arise: A Black Tie & Gown Gala
The painting Arise by michelle y williams inspired the Center to create an event that would bring together lawmakers, advocates, educators, philanthropists and others throughout the Commonwealth committed to ensuring a safer future for women and girls. Arise: A Black Tie & Gown Gala was held in Frankfort February 12, 2010.

The Deans' Dinner at Keeneland
The Center hosted The Dean's Dinner at Keeneland to celebrate and unveil the Women's Circle Endowed Chair of Study on Violence Against Women, the Robert H. and Anna B. Culton Endowed Professor and the Mary Byron Graduate Fellowship in the Center for Research on Violence Against Women. The event was held June 11, 2008.
