Christine Amerman, M.A. - Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Christine Amerman, M.A. is Liaison to the College of Communications and Information Studies. Christine is located in the Stuckert Career Center on Monday and Thursday. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, Christine is located in 119 Grehan Building. A former faculty member at Asbury College, Christine received her Masters of Arts in Communications Studies from Baylor University. She also worked as a professor at her undergraduate alma mater, Asbury College. At the Career Center, Christine works with majors in the College of Communications on internships and job opportunities.
Megan E. Boone, M.A. - Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Megan Boone, M.A. has served as liaison to the College of Engineering since August 2006. Megan is located in the Stuckert Career Center on Thursday. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, Megan is located in 383 Ralph G. Anderson Building. She began in career services at Sullivan University and enjoys assisting students in exploring career paths and identifying jobs upon graduation. Megan has a background in Human Resources working as a HR Generalist at General Electric. She has a Masters degree in Industrial Organization Psychology from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Transylvania University.
Brooke Brown, M.S. - Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Brooke Brown joined the Stuckert Career Center at the University of Kentucky in July 2007 after spending 2 years in the Career Center at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. Prior work experience has included grant writing for a nonprofit organization for the blind and banking. She has a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of West Florida. She is involved in the Kentucky Association of Cooperative Education and Career Employment (KACECE) serving on the Executive Board, the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE), and the Association of Christians in Student Development (ACSD).
Sally Foster, M.A. - Director
Sally Foster has served as the Director of MBA Career Services since November 2006. Sally is located in Gatton 145F. She enjoys assisting MBA students with defining their career path, formulating a personalized job search plan, and executing their search. She has worked in the field of career services for over 8 years. Prior to working with the Gatton College of Business & Economics, she served as the director of career services at a liberal arts college. Sally has a Masters degree in Counseling and is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Master Career Counselor.
Caroline Francis, Ed.S, NCCC
Caroline Francis, Ed.S., MCC, NCCC is a Master Career Counselor and a National Certified Career Counselor with a wide range of expertise. Caroline is available in the Stuckert Career Center on Friday and Saturday. Formerly, Caroline was the Executive Director of the New Opportunity School for Women in Berea, Kentucky. She has worked extensively with college students and adults in transition. Caroline's resume also includes being a former Assistant Director of U.K.'s Career Center and work in the industrial assessment and hiring field. Caroline is certified by NCDA and CCE as a Global Career Development Facilitator Instructor.
Jamie Johnson, M.S., NCC, MCC, RPCC - Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Jamie Johnson, worked as a Career Counselor for over 17 years. Jamie is located in the Stuckert Career Center on Tuesday and Friday. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Jamie is located in Patterson Office Tower 257. She has worked in business, academic and non-profit settings including UCLA, University of Utah, Countrywide Financial Corporation, Pomona College, Claremont, CA and most recently University of Kentucky. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Ambassador University, Pasadena, CA and her Masters of Counseling in Marriage, Family Therapy with a specialization in Career Counseling from California State University, Northridge. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor, Master Career Counselor and Registered Professional Career Counselor, California. Jamie is originally from Kentucky and recently returned home to serve the University of Kentucky students and be closer to family.
Julie Johnson, PhD - Interim Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Julie Johnson is serving as the Interim Career Counselor for the College of Agriculture. Julie is located in the Stuckert Career Center on Tuesday. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Julie is located in Ag. Building, N8. Julie received her PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology from George Mason University.
Susan Thompson, LPCA, NCE - Career Counselor
Susan Thompson grew up in Florida and lived in Atlanta, Georgia until four years ago when she moved to Kentucky to attend graduate school at Asbury Theological Seminary. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling degree in December, 2007. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Theology from Logos University in Jacksonville, Florida. Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in Kentucky and has passed the National Counselor's Exam (NCE). She briefly worked as a Therapist for a private counseling agency. Susan has been at the University of Kentucky Career Center since August, 2006. As a career counselor, Susan assists students with career and major decisions. Her office hours at the Stuckert Career Center are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9AM to 5PM.
Esther Livingston, M.A. - Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Esther has been at the Career Center since August 2000 and currently serves as liaison to the colleges of Education, Fine Arts, and Design. She also coordinates administrative aspects of the Internship and Service-Learning Programs and the publication of printed materials. Esther holds a Bachelors degree in Organizational Management from Midway College and received her Master of Science degree in Career, Technical, and Leadership Education from the University of Kentucky. Esther's background includes experience in Business, Education, Theatre, Publishing, and the Thoroughbred industry. She is President of the Kentucky Association of Cooperative Education and Career Employment, a member of the National Society for Experiential Education, and serves on the UK Service-Learning Initiatives Council and the advisory board for the Appalachian Center.
Sue Strup, MSEd. - Director
Sue H. Strup earned her Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, her Master's degree in Nursing and her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She has worked in career management, co-operative education, fundraising, university administration and most recently experiential education and service-learning for the past 17 years. She currently directs the experiential education program (i.e., internships, shadowing and service-learning), as well as career services at the James W. Stuckert Career Center at the University of Kentucky. Prior to coming to the University of Kentucky, Ms. Strup directed one of the oldest and largest co-operative education programs in the United States at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She also launched the co-operative education program in Tel Aviv, Israel where the students worked with multi-national companies such as IBM, Intel, Motorola and Kulicke-Soffa. Ms. Strup was the director of the career development center at Thomas Jefferson University for 9 years and also ran the university alumni office where she was in charge of fundraising, scholarship stewardship and reunions. She has consulting experience focusing on providing public and private schools with grant writing support, fundraising, training and development and career management consulting services. She has taught hundreds of career management and grant writing workshops to faculty, students and employers and has raised corporate money for numerous educational projects. Sue serves on many UK committees and taskforces including Project Graduate, Internationalization Taskforce and the Jumpstart Higher Education Partnership. She sits on the Board of Director for the YMCA of Central Kentucky. She has also been an active member, presenter and contributor for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) and the Kentucky Association of Cooperative Education and Career Employment (KACECE)
Azetta Williams, M.S., CFLE - Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Azetta Z. Williams serves the Gatton College of Business and Economics. Azetta is located in the Stuckert Career Center on Wednesday. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, Azetta is located in Gatton 235G. Azetta is a native of Tuskegee, Alabama. She received her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Alabama A&M University and M.S. in Family Studies from the University of Kentucky. She is also a Certified Family Life Educator with the National Council on Family Relations. Professionally, she has published newspaper, journal articles and book reviews. She has served on task forces, committees, and coalitions and in addition has created and presented many educational workshops, special programs, events and activities designed to educate and enhance the lives of individuals, families, and communities including school age children, adolescents, young adults, and seniors.
Formerly as a County Extension Agent she produced and distributed monthly newsletters, facilitated workshops to citizens, homemakers, and school-age children. As a summer camp counselor, she's developed and taught family and personal development classes to teenagers and adults. She has held several leadership roles as a student and professional including student ambassador and campus liaison for KABHE-Kentucky Association of Blacks in Higher Education. She has been the project manager for the annual UK Business Career Fair Committee since 2004 as well as UK At-Risk Student Task Force and Cultural Diversity Committee member. In addition, she is an active community volunteer and member of several professional associations including the KABHE, AAFCS-American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) and the Kentucky Association of Cooperative Education and Career Employment (KACECE).
