| Introduction and Mission The
University of Kentucky Advanced Genetic Technologies Center provides
a key element in the vision of UK as a Top 20 research institution and a
center of excellence in molecular biosciences. UK-AGTC is a DNA sequencing service center/core facility specializing in
high-throughput genetic analysis with a strong emphasis on customer service and bioinformatics support.
This Service Center complements other new campus facilities
devoted to transcriptomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and structural
biology and serves research clients both on and off campus. AGTC has the
potential to enhance the visibility of UK in the modern genomics world
while providing a nucleus to integrate biological research entities throughout
the institution itself, thus reducing the University's need for outsourcing. |
