DNA Sequencers

ABI 3730 ABI 3100
A multi-color fluorescence based DNA sequencencer. Houses 16 X 96 well sample plates and 10-50ml sample volume. It can sequence up to twelve 96-well plates in one day. It can sequence longest read lengths of any system available. A 4-capillary analyzer ideal for automated low throughput samples. It can sequence four wells in about 2 1/2 hours.
Beckman-Coulter CEQ2000 Beckman-Coulter CEQ8000
  Beckman-Coulter CEQ2000 Beckman-Coulter CEQ8000
This sequencer uses linear polyacrylamide and a cocetal capillary array in a 96-well format. 8 Samples can be read in parallel. It is capable of DNA sequencing and fragment analysis. It can read up to 700 bases per sample with 98% accuracy. This sequencer can sequence one 96-well plate in one day.

All cleanup protocols are done using these robots. We can cleanup around twelve 96-well plates in one day.

Genetic QPix 2 Beckman-Coulter Allegra 25R
It can pick 3,500 colonies per hour using a CCD camera and detection software which allows the user to specify picking thresholds such as intensity, roundness and proximity. The instruent can hold up to two filters and up to 15 source plates. It has a fixed angle and a swinging bucket rotor. The maximum speed of the fixed angle rotor is 15,000rpm and the maximum speed of the swing bucket rotor is 5,700rpm.
GeneMachines Hydroshear Spex GenoGrinder
GeneMachines HydroShear Spex GenoGrinder
Its a device for producing reproducible random DNA fragments from samples with volumes as low as 40ml. It can shear DNA fragments as small as 1000 base pairs. The run time for this machine is about 10 minutes. Prepares plant material for isolation of nucleic acids by pulverizing action with beads. It can handle two 96-well plates. Sample preparation is typically complete in 2 minutes.

GeneMachines HiGro Tomtec Incubator
Orbital Shaker/Incubator. It accepts 96-well plates as well as 384-well plates. Capacity for 48 shallow well or 24 deep well plates. Can incubate up to 30 96-deep well plates or 42 384-well plates. Hydrates air as it incubates. Optional C02 attachment.

Can accomadate 96-well reaction plates. Each of the four blocks can be operated individually. Thermal range is -0.5 degree C to 105 degree C. There is a single block 96 well PCR system and also a Dual block PCR System. The Dual block can accomadate 0.2ml reaction tubes or 96-well reaction plates for PCR or cycle sequencing.
