Welcome to the message page. This page will direct your readings and homework assignments - plus, it will give you hints about quizzes and the class papers. I will also use this page to inform you about current events in business, Lexington, and with me!

The Week of May 2-8 1999 - This is it!! Your papers are due this week. Make sure that you know what day your paper is due!!! Please turn them in before 5:00pm so I can go home. IF you need any help - I will be available by e-mail and in my office most of the week.

Hey congrats to all of you that are graduating this Spring. I wish you nothing but the best and am sure that you'll do wonderful things out there in the "real world". Please keep in touch with me over the years - I'd like to know how you are doing and will help if at all possible. Classroom Policies!

  • There will be NO food or drink whatsoever in room 201. This is an order from those above me (not that there are many below me!)
  • When you get to class (early I hope), turn on your computer and login with you SNDS account. You may surf, check E-Mail and do what you wish UNTIL I begin class. When class begins, I need you to stop. Then, when I assign an in-class assignment you may surf again.
  • Make sure you bring a blank disk to class.
  • When class is over, you must logout and turn off your computer. Plus, I must be the last person to leave the classroom, so finish your work, save if necessary and logout.

    December 16-January 13, 1999 - Have a VERY Happy Holiday!

    January 14, 1999 - Welcome one and all to the Spring 1999 MKT 390 course! Today's class will be an introduction of me, you, the course, the syllabus, and the web site. I hope that you not only enjoy this class, but also learn something that will help you in the future.

    January 19, 1999 - An interesting weekend. I think you'll agree that those 3 days went by REAL quick! Today's class will be an introduction to E-Mail and Browsers. This means that you'll be sending and receiving E-Mail and surfing the net all class long! If you are not up to par on your skills, check out the readings here

    January 21, 1999 - Today's class is an introduction to the history of the Internet and a lesson on how the Internet functions. Be sure to check the readings page and read the assignments. Check out the readings here There is also a T-Blades game tonight!!!! go have fun.

    January 26, 1999 - Quiz time!! I hope you reviewed over the weekend. To give you a little help, here is a short study guide. When the quiz is over, We will discuss strategy issues and internet marketing. Be sure to check the readings page and read.

    January 28, 1999 - Today you get your quiz back!! wwwweeeeee. Be sure to do the readings that have been listed on the readings page. We will continue our discussion of strategy issues and internet marketing. Be sure to check your picture on the picture page late Wednesday. There will be reshoots today.

    February 2, 1999 - What is the future of internet marketing? The readings (click here: ) help answer this question. In class, we will talk about this lovely topic.

    February 4, 1999 - Ethical decisions in marketing? Yes I know sometimes that is an oxymoron. The readings (click here: ) give an insight into some of the ethcial issues facing businesses on the internet.

    February 9, 1999 - Today's readings (click here: ) begin our discussion of business to business use of the net! This topic is very overlooked and gets far less publicity than its glamorous E-Commerce counterpart. We won't make that mistake today.

    February 11, 1999 - It makes no sense talking about Business to Business internet transactions without mentioning Cisco (not crisco). We will more than mention Cisco on Thursday! First, make sure that you do the readings (click here: ). Then, make sure that you do the homework. Plus, you may want to check here sec001 -9:30 or sec002 -11:30 to see what homework and in-class assignments I have recorded in my grades. only the first two and last one can be made up. If you have proof of completion for any of the other assignments - let me know!!

    February 16, 1999 - Who is online? What do potential market segments look like? In today's class, we will look at a number of readings (click here: ) that give the results of cybergraphic studies. You will be asked to complete an in-class assignment based on the readings!

    February 18, 1999 - Quiz, Quiz, Quiz, . . . Before you get to class be sure to look at the readings (click here: ) about cybergraphics. Plus, you might want to look at this study guide. After the quiz we will talk about the future!

    February 23, 1999 - Do consumers behave differently online than they do in a physical retail setting? Do they shop differently, do they look for information in a different manner? What happens when you use the internet too much? Can you become addicted to the web? The readings (click here: ) will help you answer some of these questions.

    February 25, 1999 - The interactivity of the internet has given rise to the building of cyber communities. Here people get together and share ideas, thoughts, and opinions about common topics. These readings (click here: ) give an overview of cyber communities.

    April 13, 1999 - This is the last set of readings for the distribution section and it involves E-Commerce. For the readings, click here: Plus, make a note of this on your syllabus - there will be no quiz on Thursday the 15th!!!! Instead, the quiz will be one week later on the 22nd!

    April 15, 1999 - Welcome to the first of three sessions on Internet Promotion. Today we have a very special guest - Jeff Kuerzi Marketing Manager for Kentucky Connect. So be there and look presentable. There are readings and a homework assignment for today's class, click here: Bard and I decided to make the in-class assignment from Tuesday a make-up assignment you can do it to atone for missing earlier in-class assignments. This CANNOT be used in place of the homework due on Thursday!!!! For credit for other in-class assignments, turn it in BEFORE Thursday's class.
