HIV Prevention Research

HIV Prevention Research assimilates the work of a team of social scientists and educators in the development of preventive interventions for adolescent high risk populations. Target populations include young women who live in urban housing developments, young men in detention facilities and in MSM youth groups, and high school students in the United States, South Africa, and Ethiopia. The behavior change model that this group uses is based on work coming from the Theory of Reasoned Action, the Health Behavior Model, Social Cognitive Theory, and Diffusion Theory.
