Communication
Honor Society
The
goals of CHS are to:
- Recognize,
foster and reward outstanding scholastic
achievement;
- Stimulate
interest in the field of communication
studies;
- Promote
and encourage professional development
among communication majors;
- Establish
and maintain closer relationships and
understanding between faculty and students;
and
- Explore
options for further graduate education.
Eligibility
To be considered for admission, applicants must have completed 60 semester hours; have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 for all courses taken; have a GPA of at least 3.5 for all communication courses taken; have completed the equivalent of 12 semester hours in communication studies; and currently be enrolled as a full-time student in good standing. In addition, applicants should display commitment to the field of communication, exhibit high standards of personal and professional character and support the purposes of the honor society.
Departmental
Honors
To be eligible to graduate with departmental honors, CHS members must attend and participate in CHS meetings and activities, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, and complete COM 454 Honors Seminar in Communication.

Meetings for Fall 2006 will be as follows:
- Monday, October 2nd, 5:00pm in the Maggie Room
- Monday, November 6th, 5:00pm in the Maggie Room
- Sunday, December 13th, Holiday Party
