The Graduate Student Association (GSA) of the Department of Communication of the University of Kentucky, Lexington (KY) invites you to submit abstracts for the presentation of papers at the 2003 GSA Symposium.

The symposium will be held at the Gaines Center for the Humanities of the University of Kentucky, Lexington (KY), on February 21-22, 2003.

The topic of the 2003 GSA Symposium is "Communicating Beyond Boundaries: New Voices in Interdisciplinary Scholarship." Abstracts that are relevant to the conference topic are particularly welcome.

The participation to the symposium is open to Ph. D. and Master students of all disciplines (humanities and social sciences).

All topics related to the theme of the symposium are welcome! Our intent is to present as many perspectives in as many academic fields as possible. Of course, contributions that are too specific (e.g., "the use of adverbs in the 15th prose of the writer John Doe") will have less chance to be considered for the symposium... not because of the quality of the work in itself, but because we want to identify broad topics of discussion across disciplines.

The deadline for the submission of papers is January 24, 2003. Accepted papers will be notified in February. Only completed papers will be considered for the symposium.

The registration fee for the symposium is $10. The fee contributes to the development of the Graduate Student Association of the Graduate Program in Communication at the University of Kentucky. The fee will give access to all of events included in the program of the two-day symposium (e. g., luncheon, panels, and receptions), symposium materials (e.g., program, name-tag, folder, notebook, and pen), and a commemorative mug

Electronic submissions are encouraged. To submit your paper online follow this link.

To submit your paper via snail mail, please sent your manuscript at the attention of Maria Brann at the following address:
