Julie Berry

For the past four years, Julie Berry has been the Assistant to the Director for the School of Journalism and Telecommunications. Her duties consist of maintaining the school’s budget and payment of DAVs, travel expenses, interdepartmental expenditures, procurement payroll, distribution of effort, and purchasing in the FRS/FES/HRS system. Julie updates the faculty and endowment databases. Other duties include purchasing of supplies, maintenance of the School’s section of the Grehan Building, Maggie Room improvements and work-study employment. Julie is also responsible for the school’s events, i.e., James C. Bowling Executive-In-Residence Series, Joe Creason Lecture, and Richard G. Wilson Symposia for JOU/ISC/TEL sequences, First Amendment forums and faculty retreats. Starting in December, Julie will be the Event Coordinator for Outside Rentals for the UK Art Museum on a part-time basis.

Julie is also working on her bachelor’s in Public Relations. Her goal is to receive her BA by Spring 07. She will begin her major courses in Spring 05. Besides working fulltime for the school, she is active in outside businesses such as catering and bartending for various local caterers. Julie is involved with Southland Christian Church, Southeastern Baseball League and the Squires Elementary PTA. She volunteers regularly in the daycare for her church and helps promote new membership for the PTA. Julie is married to Richard E. Berry of Lexington and they have one son, Robert Dalton.
