Welcome to the School of Library and Information Science

We offer an ALA accredited masters degree designed to meet individual needs, including the non-thesis MSLS degree or the MA degree with either a thesis or with a specialty track option. Our mission is to extend and enhance the quality of information services in a culturally diverse, technological and global society. We serve a large distance learning community with a number of distance learning courses available. Program options include certification for school media specialists. Opportunities for doctoral studies with an emphasis in LIS are also available within our College.

We are located on the University of Kentucky Lexington campus in the heart of Bluegrass country. The School's new home is the recently renovated space on the third floor of the Lucille Little Fine Arts Library Building where you will find our administrative and faculty offices, three state-of-the-art smart classrooms, and a comfortable student lounge area. We also occupy several areas on the fifth floor of the King Library Building which houses the McConnell Center for the Study of Youth Literature and the Center for Applied Information Technology (CAIT).

To arrange a site visit, contact our Student Affairs Officer, Mr. Will Buntin. We look forward to seeing you!
