Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to familiarize our students with the resources (technological and human) that are available and with the policies that guide their use.

The Center for Applied Information Technology is located in King Library South, Room 504. Our mission is to support the curricular and research needs of the students and faculty of the SLIS. Please note that we are not part of the broader 'microlab' system on campus and that our mission, policies, and hours differ from that system. While all students can use the general microlab system, only students registered in LIS courses can use our facility; non-LIS guest access is occasionally permitted with permission. SLIS students are welcome to take advantage of the University microlab system for their general computing needs, but be aware that many of the unique applications and technologies our curriculum requires are not found other places on campus.
