for children.

This award goes to the "author of the most distinguished contribution
to American literature for children".
- Kentucky
Bluegrass Award Winners are selected by Kentucky elementary and
middle school students. Information about participating in the selection

- Coretta
Scott King winners are selected by the Coretta Scott King Task Force
of the American Library Association's Social Responsibilities Round
Table. Awards are given annually to an African American author and an
African American illustrator for distinguished books which "promote
an understanding and appreciation of the 'American Dream.'"
- The Boston
Globe-Horn Book Awards, given annually for excellence in literature
for children and young adults, recognize an author of fiction or poetry
for children, an illustrator of a children's book, and an author of
outstanding nonfiction for
children.
