McConnell Conference Scrapbook 2006

About 350 librarians, teachers, and lovers of literature gathered for the 38th annual McConnell Conference for Children's Literature, "Truth In Story" held February 24-25 at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington. . Conference sponsor Book Wholesalers, Inc. was on hand with a large selection of books for sale, and the SLIS McConnell Center for the Study of Children's Literature book exhibit was available for browsing. Special thanks to Professor Sandy Ireland, who again planned and coordinated the conference. In addition, we thank Professor Sharon McQueen for her contributions to the conference, McConnell Center graduate assistant Ms. Laurel Tacoma for all her help with the exhibits, to SLIS administrative assistant Ms Lousetta Carlson for all her help with conference preparations and registration and LIS 611 students for their help in perparations and their presentation.
