Our first event of the year was a cookout at Professor Bill Marshall's house.
Thanks so much to Bill and his wife Jan for opening their home to us and providing such wonderful food.

Other possible events for this year...

• A panel of recent graduates to discuss how they got the archives jobs they have now.
• Speakers to describe the various types of archives: academic, state, corporate, etc.
• A resume workshop with local archivists (possibly in collaboration with other student organizations).
• The archives class (LIS 643) has several field trips scheduled throughout the semester. UK SAA members are welcome to tag along on these trips. The schedule for Fall 2006 is:
  • Sept. 8th: Eastern Kentucky University Archives and Berea College Special Collections
  • Sept. 15th: Keeneland Association Library
  • Sept. 22nd: Kentucky Underground Storage
  • Oct. 20th: University of Louisville and the Filson Historical Society
  • Oct. 27th: Kentucky Dept. for Libraries and Archives and the Kentucky Historical Society
