Welcome to the website for the University of Kentucky Student Chapter of the Society of American Archivists!

The Society of American Archivists, founded in 1936, is the national archival professional association of the United States. SAA's mission is to serve the educational and informational needs of its members and to provide leadership to ensure the identification, preservation, and use of records of historical value.

The UK chapter of SAA was founded in the 2003-2004 school year to introduce students to the archival profession, to discuss archival issues, and engage in educational and professional activities. Membership is open to graduate students in the UK School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) or the UK History Department.
