Alumni Events and News
The College's hosts several events for alumni throughout the year. Those events include: the Joe Creason Lecture and Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame Luncheon and Induction Ceremony; the James C. Bowling Executive-in-Residence Lecture Series; the Lifetime Achievement Award in Public Relations Luncheon; the Richard G. Wilson Alumni Speakers' Symposium; the annual McConnell Literature Conference; the SLIS Alumni and Awards Banquet, and the College's Awards and Recognition Dinner. Alumni are always welcome to attend any of these events.
The College welcomes your help in keeping our alumni files current. We want news of your accomplishments, personal news and your pictures, too. The UK Alumni Association now offers an Online Community. Through the Online Community you can connect to your former friends and classmates. Another service offered to registered alumni through the Online Community is Wired Cats. Wired Cats is a great way to connect to your former classmates and friends. It allows you to develop an online network of alumni friends and acquaintances with whom you can easily communicate. Alumni are encouraged to invite other UK alumni who are friends, colleagues and acquaintances to join their Wired Cats network. As networks are created, users are able to send and receive messages within their network of friends, send and receive event invitations, update personal profile information, and use career services.
