Metrum RSS-600 Tape Robot

The Metrum RSS-600 tape robot, circa 1994, used VHS video casettes for data storage. It was replaced in 1996 by an STK tape silo.

The Metrum RSS-600 had a capacity of 600 tapes, each holding 10.5 gigabytes of data, for a total of 6.3 terabytes.
