The UK School of Architecture offers the only architecture program in Kentucky accredited by the National Architecture Accreditation Board (NAAB).*
The curriculum arises from a rigorous, design-oriented approach to architecture education through academic, and 'real world' applications.
In addition to design studio, students study building technologies and structural systems; the history, theory, and criticism of architecture; and the ethical and professional principles of successful architecture practice.
At the graduate level, students pursue studies in specialized professional concentrations including town design and digital visualization.
David Biagi is Director of the School of Architecture.
About Accreditation
In the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure.
*The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), which is the sole agency authorized to accredit U.S. professional degree programs in architecture, recognizes three types of degrees: the Bachelor of Architecture, the Master of Architecture, and the Doctor of Architecture. A program may be granted a 6-year, 3-year, or 2-year term of accreditation, depending on the extent of its conformance with established educational standards.
Master's degree programs may consist of a preprofessional undergraduate degree and a professional graduate degree that, when earned sequentially, constitute an accredited professional education. However, the pre-professional degree is not, by itself, recognized as an accredited degree.

The Bachelor of Architecture is currently the NAAB-accredited degree of the UK School of Architecture. A nomenclature change to reflect updates to the curriuculum is in progress.
