Projects
Flexural punching strength of reinforced concrete slabs subject to simultaneous gravity and sideways forces. Yield Line Theory analysis of the problem, examining a variety of loadings and collapse mechanisms.
Composite interaction of wood floor joists with plywood sub-floors glued and nailed to the joists. The glue and nails are not sufficient to provide complete composition action, and a method has been devised to consider partial composite action as part of an elastic (allowable stress) design.
Shear wall interaction of brick facing with wood or steel studs in low rise buildings. The intent is to avoid the expense of sheathing by making use of the brick exterior to resist the in-plane shear applied to the wall.
