Support the College

College of Design Spring 2008 Scholarship Campaign

The College of Design presents more than 70 named scholarships and awards per year sponsored by individual donors, firms, and corporations.

In addition, the College has several scholarship funds which represent collective gifts from multiple donors.

These funds are generally supported by gifts contributed during the College of Design Spring Phonathon.

Exact dates for this year's annual scholarship campaign will be announced in early 2008.

Support for our students is support for the future of the design profession. We ask you to answer the call to invest in the next generation of architects, designers, and practicing professionals by making a scholarship gift to one or more of these funds in the University of Kentucky College of Design:

COLLEGE OF DESIGN STUDENT ENHANCEMENT FUND

A universal fund in the College of Design to support student learning across all three programs in the College. Supports recruitment scholarships for entering students, need-based scholarships to continuing students, merit awards for design excellence, studio and conference travel within the U.S. and abroad, special equipment and technology enhancements, and other opportunities in and out of the classroom important to design education.

SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

A dedicated scholarship in Architecture for a top student entering the upper level curriculum. Awarded to a second-year architecture student on a competitive basis to reward and sustain excellence. The Alumni Scholarship is the largest single scholarship offered in Architecture, intended to recognize accomplishment in the first two years of study and to promote continuing outstanding achievement in junior- and senior-level design studios.

SCHOOL OF INTERIOR DESIGN SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded to an Interior Design Student on the basis of accomplishment and financial need. Supported annually by alumni and friends of the UK Interior Design Program. School of Interior Design Endowed Scholarship An endowed scholarship created by the School of Interior Design faculty to support an outstanding student in Interior Design. Income from this permanent fund is used to support at least one scholarship per year to an outstanding upper-level student in Interior Design.

JENNIFER BERTOSSA MEMORIAL FUND

Presented in memory of Jennifer Bertossa, Architecture Class of 1989, by her classmates and friends. Inspired by Jennifer's own curiosity and interest in travel as an architecture student, this annual award supports off-campus study experiences for students pursuing their degree in architecture.

PENCE HALL FIVE SCHOLARSHIP

Presented through contributions from six members of the architectural classes of 1979 and 1980 who work in the Northeast. One of the longest, continually supported scholarships in the College of Design.

What does my gift support?

Your may designate your contribution to any program or scholarship fund within the College of Design. Unrestricted gifts are also very important because they can be used wherever the need is greatest. In the past, these funds have been used to provide students travel support, pay faculty stipends, buy new equipment, supplement scholarships, and provide overall program support.
