Bleik Pickett was appointed Director of Foundation Relations at the University of Kentucky in August 2011. He is responsible for building productive partnerships with foundations to maximize support for UK’s academic and public outreach programs.
In this role, Bleik works to strategically engage foundations to secure funding for campus priorities. He also serves as a campus–wide resource in foundation fundraising.
Bleik has more than a decade of experience developing corporate and foundation linkages for national and international organizations. In his most recent position as Director of Development for the National Science Teachers Association in Arlington, VA, Bleik successfully planned, launched and managed a $23 million capital campaign.
He has also served in similar positions at the Meridian International Center and at the Pan American Health Organization, both located in Washington, DC.
Bleik earned his master’s degree in international politics from the University of Kentucky Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Pittsburgh.
Bleik has also served in different civic roles. He was President of the Arboretum Neighborhood Association in Washington, DC, from 2007 to 2010. And currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Innovation Network for Entrepreneurial Thinking in Lexington, KY.
A native of Versailles, KY, Bleik and his wife Megan now reside in Lexington with their sons Jasper and Owen.
