Scholarships help make these dreams reality. For low-income students with no way to finance a college education, scholarships help provide educations leading to fulfilling careers. For students struggling to support themselves without the benefit of federal assistance, scholarships ease the financial burden. The University of Kentucky also has excellent undergraduate academic research scholarship opportunities for exceptional students.

In order to attract the best and the brightest students to UK, President Lee T. Todd, Jr. has made academic scholarships a priority, creating scholarship programs for alumni of the Governor's Scholars Program and Governor's School for the Arts, and enhancing the existing undergraduate academic scholarships.

These initiatives are designed to make UK competitive with other top educational institutions in recruiting and retaining students with outstanding academic, extracurricular, and civic achievements. But scholarship programs require support from our UK alumni and friends.
