Dining Plans 101

Each Dining Plan has two components, meals and flex dollars.

Meals

Choose from weekly meals or a block plan.

Weekly meals can be purchased for a specific number of meals each week during a semester. If you have a weekly Dining Plan…

  • unused meals cannot be refunded, accumulated or carried over to the next week.
  • your weekly meal allowance begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday.

Block meals can be purchased for a specific number of meals each semester. If you have a block Dining Plan…

  • unused meals cannot be refunded, or carried over at the end of the semester.
  • plan is based on 8 meals per week but you determine how many meals you want to use.

Both plans include…

  • one meal is deducted from your meal total each time you purchase a meal through one of our participating Dining Services locations.
  • use your meals to enjoy all-you-care-to-eat at Commons Market and Blazer Café or build your own "Combo Meal" at K-Lair Grill and Ovid's Cafe by choosing an entrée, adding a side(s), and a drink.

Flex Dollars

  • Flex Dollars work like a debit card, using your Wildcard Student ID, and can be used in all 21 Dining Services locations including:
    • All-you-care-to-eat buffets at Commons Market and Blazer Café
    • National franchises: Starbucks®, Subway®, Chick-fil-A®, and Sbarro®.
    • Dining Services locations in academic buildings including Erikson, Gatton College of Business, Ag North, Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC), and Patterson Office Tower.
    • Locations close to residence halls including Ovid's Café, the Food Court at the Student Center, and K-Lair Grill.
    • Three convenience stores: Blazer Xpress (Blazer Hall), The Corner Store (Commons Market), and Quick Stop (Student Center).
  • Purchases are subtracted from your account.
  • Adding money to your Flex Account is easy at the Dining & Plus Account Office in 101 Student Center. Dining Services will contribute an additional 10% to the account when your Plan is initiated and each time a minimum deposit of $25 or more is made during the semester.
  • $100 in Flex Dollars can transfer from the Fall to Spring Semesters. Unused Flex Dollars at the end of the Spring Semester are non-refundable.
