ADOBE CONNECT PRO 8 RESOURCES

WHAT IS IT: A web conferencing software that enables instructors to deliver content where it's needed, when it's needed, and to stream video, audio, and interactive content in a live, virtual classroom.
WHO CAN USE IT:
Available to University of Kentucky faculty and students. For full access, faculty and instructors will need to request a HOST account by submitting a Host Request Form. (You must login with your LinkBlue user name and ID to request an account.)

HOW CAN I USE THIS:
To teach students synchronously at a distance, to hold office hours online, to bring in a guest speaker who is not local

Training is available for all new students who are unfamiliar with Adobe Connect Pro software.  A regular schedule of training sessions are listed below along with the URL ( http://connect.uky.edu/practice/) of the virtual training room.  Please note that your individual classes will NOT be held in this training room.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (Complete list of system requirements)

All platforms need:

  • USB web camera or built-in camera (if required by instructor)
  • USB microphone/headset or 1/8” (headphone type connection) microphones can be used (best results), or the built-in microphone on a web cam or laptop (not optimal)
    • If headset is not used then speakers are needed (keep volume low but audible to avoid sound problems)
  • High Speed Internet (no dial up); At least 1Mbps is recommended
  • Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1 for all users (hosts, presenters, participants, and administrators)
