TAKING AN ONLINE COURSE

In order to take any UK courses, including online courses,
students must first be admitted and registered.

HOW IT WORKS

Students taking online courses do not usually have to attend face-to-face meetings and off-campus students can save time and money with regard to travel to and from a classroom location. Instructors can be contacted for any possible course meeting requirements. In addition, assignments and class participation are conducted "asynchronously," meaning that the students can choose their study times according to their individual schedules.

ARE YOU READY?

Online courses are taught at the same academic level as on-campus courses. The University of Kentucky strives to ensure that students taking online courses receive the same quality education they would receive in the traditional classroom. In fact, the online classroom environment can contribute to the development of good and regular study habits. If you have concerns about whether you will be successful as an online learner, take these surveys to assess your readiness.

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS AND BLACKBOARD

A computer with a minimum computer configuration is required. Please refer to our Technical Requirements and Recommendations to see what hardware and software you will need for your course. The University of Kentucky uses Blackboard as our course management system.
