Payment Plan Change
The installment payment plan that required a special application and enrollment fee has been eliminated. Students who are unable to pay fees in full before the start of classes will be assessed a monthly late fee of 1.25 percent on any unpaid balance, as reflected on the account statement. This payment alternative requires no application.
Monthly Billing Statements
Beginning in November 2005, UK students will be billed on a monthly basis for their student account. These statements will be mailed to the student's Permanent address (as recorded in myUK). To review and update the Permanent address, students should log on to myUK and follow the instructions for updating addresses.
Activity Fees
All students enrolled in Distance Learning Programs courses being taught outside Fayette or the surrounding counties are exempt from paying activity fees. However, students enrolled in a main campus course or a course taught in Fayette County or a surrounding county, are charged activity fees that will be added to their total enrollment liability. A per credit hour activity fee will be charged to part-time students but have not yet been assessed for Fall 2008. Activity fees are charged to full-time students.
Tuition Assistance
Students receiving assistance with their tuition from an agency will need to send a signed, official authorization to University of Kentucky Student Billing Services Room 18, Funkhouser Building, Lexington, KY 40506- 0054, before the appropriate deadline: August 22, 2008
Additionally, students receiving only partial assistance from an agency must pay the remaining balance by the deadline stated above.
Health Fee
For the regular fall and spring semesters, payment of the mandatory registration fee by full-time students entitles them to medical and mental health care at University Health Service. Part-time students may pay the health fee or use the Health Service on a fee-for-service basis. The health fee is voluntary for all students for the summer sessions. University of Kentucky Health Service, University Hospital and other University of Kentucky Medical Center programs assume no responsibility or liability for medical expenses incurred by students beyond those covered by University Health Service. For more information on the health fee or the services provided, call (859) 323-5823.
