UK Cultural Diversity Festival
Experience stimulating conversation with people from diverse backgrounds. Try excellent cuisine from different countries. Watch lectures, shows and films from around the world. Each March, the University of Kentucky campus comes together to celebrate diversity.
The Cultural Diversity Festival traditionally opens with a kickoff celebration called International Talent Night. The events includes entertainment from around the world and information on all the festival's activities.
Perhaps the festival's most popular, and certainly tastiest, event,Taste of Our World is held in the Grand Ballroom of the UK Student Center. This event features a diverse array of culture-rich foods from across the continents. During the Taste of Our World celebration, the festival committee members bring back another favorite – a Ten Thousand Villages sale of jewelry, home decor and gifts. The Stuckert Career Center hosts a Career Development Evening. This educational evening includes a panel discussion, a networking workshop and a networking reception — connecting students and potential employers. This session is designed for international and minority students, but anyone interested in working for a company with a strong diversity program may attend.
The festival includes a variety of other events, including Diversity Dialogues and a career development component.
