The Society for the Promotion of Undergraduate Research is a Student Organization at the University of Kentucky that seeks to provide opportunities for undergraduates interested in research.

SPUR was created by students in the UK URP class in the spring of 2004. The aims of the group are

To direct undergraduates to the right research laboratory

To provide an array of academic resources to undergraduates

To hold colloqia for undergraduates currently involved in research

To organize and promote the Annual Showcase of Undergraduate Scholars
