Payroll Department
provides services for the University of Kentucky and affiliated corporations, while providing payroll service to all University of Kentucky employees. We are responsible for insuring that payments are made in accordance with the rules and regulations issued by the various taxing authorities, companies we do business with and the University of Kentucky's own regulations as approved by the Board of Trustees.

Payroll Department responsibilities:

 

  • Design, maintenance & operation of the official payroll systems and records
  • Establishment of procedures for processing payroll data
  • Processing of payrolls, payroll checks & expense distribution
  • Mandatory & voluntary deductions & payments to third party vendors for payroll benefits & deductions
  • Production of year end tax forms (W2, 1099R & 1042S)
  • Processing of W4's & K4's
  • Special Reports
  • Reconciliation of withholding accounts
  • Assisting departments with the processing of payroll data
  • Training UK employees on HRS through ITTC
  • Approval of "PARs"
  • Processing & payment of Federal, State, OASDI, Medicare & Local City taxes
  • Processing of Form 8233

Our primary objective is to pay every faculty and staff employee on a timely and accurate basis. Errors with paychecks create devastating loss of morale. Every effort is made to see that all employees receive checks when due.
