Project Description: The University of Kentucky purchased the University Lofts located at 236 Bolivar Street, which is approximately 97,000 GSF and contains 86 apartments. The intent of this project is to renovate the building to accommodate the Art Department that is currently located in the Reynolds Building on Scott Street. The scope of the work to be performed on this project will include, but not limited to, demolition of most of the apartments walls and their core kitchen, bathrooms pods and hot water heaters serving same; selective relocation of existing HVAC fan units to create larger spaces for studios/classrooms/art gallery; the addition of a second elevator, and re-pointing/repair of the brick masonry on the south-southeast and east-southeast corners of the structure.
