Property Acquisition & Sales

Overview

All University property acquisition and sales must be coordinated through the Real Property Division. Any property owner interested in selling property to the University must be directed to Real Estate Services.

All excess property sales must be approved by the Board of Trustees in advance. Property sales are tightly regulated by state statute and must be coordinated through the Real Property Division. Property sales are typically conducted through a sealed bid or public auction process as coordinated by Real Property.

Properties for Sale

The University of Kentucky is not selling any Real Estate Holdings at this time.

KRS 164.270 – Authority to sell property
KRS 164.260 – Authority to sell or condemn property
KRS 164A.575 – Sale of surplus property
