Q. Who is my contact for additional information?

A. Specific questions about undergraduate admission policies and procedures should be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Specific questions about graduate admission policies and procedures should be directed to Graduate School Admissions.

Registration

Q. How do I register?

A. New and continuing Evening and Weekend Programs students may conveniently enroll in classes either by using myUK, or by contacting Evening and Weekend Programs, during assigned registration periods.

All undergraduate students are required to meet with an academic advisor each semester before enrolling. Graduate and Non Degree students are exempt from this requirement.

If you are NEW to UK, you will receive written correspondence containing information about registering from your admissions office.

Dropping

Q. How do I drop a course(s)?

A. You may conveniently drop a course before classes begin through the fourth week of classes using myUK. You may also withdraw through Evening and Weekend Programs or Student Records in person, by fax or by mail. Students receive a W grade on their transcript for dropped courses after the fourth week of classes.

After end of the fourth week, you may drop a class for urgent non-academic reasons only subject to the approval of the instructor of the course(s). You will need to start the drop process beginning with the dean of your college via your student services office.

Dropping a course that reduces your course load from full-time to part-time after classes begin impacts your tuition liability. To take advantage of a release/refund policy, you must contact Evening and Weekend Programs or Student Records instead of using myUK when dropping a course.

Withdrawal

Q. How do I withdraw from all my courses or cancel my registration?

A. You may conveniently withdraw or cancel all your classes before the first day of classes using myUK. You may also withdraw through Evening and Weekend Programs or Student Records in person, by fax, or by mail.

Withdrawals after classes begin impact your tuition liability. To take advantage of a release/refund policy, you must contact Evening and Weekend Programs or Student Records instead of using myUK when dropping a course.

After classes begin and the middle of the term, you will need to withdraw or cancel your registration through Evening and Weekend Programs or Student Records in writing. Requests may be submitted in person, by fax or by mail. Students receive a W grade on their transcript for cancelled courses after the fourth week of classes.

After the middle of the term, you may drop a class for urgent non-academic reasons only subject to the approval of the instructor of the course(s). You will need to start the drop process beginning with the dean of your college via your student services office. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Evening and Weekend Programs.

Refund

Q. How do I obtain a refund or release of my tuition liability?

A. Refunds are based on the date you request to drop or withdrawal regardless of the date you last attended class. If you drop a course that reduces your course load from full-time to part-time or withdraw from all your classes prior to the beginning of classes, you will be entitled to a full refund or release of your tuition liability. From the first day of classes and through the last day to add a class, you will be entitled to an 80 percent refund/release of your tuition liability. After the last day to add a class through the fourth week of the semester, you will be entitled to 50 percent refund/release of your tuition liability. All release/refund determinations are made by the Registrar. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Adult Student Services.
