The Central Kentucky Education Cooperative (CKEC) currently serves 20 school districts throughout Central Kentucky including Kentucky School for the Deaf. These districts and their contact information can be found under our member districts’ tab above.

CKEC was established and By-Laws adopted on July 17, 1991. The purpose of CKEC is to remove barriers, enhance, and improve the educational programs and services available to member districts. Membership in CKEC is open to school districts in the Central Kentucky service area, which can profit from affiliation and enhance the purposes of the cooperative.

The current staff (listed under the CKEC Staff tab) consists of an executive director who serves as fiscal agent and bid administrator; a director of professional development activities; and a Kentucky Virtual Learning Network representative from the Kentucky Department of Education. These individuals provide their services on one-hundred day contracts. Two full time individuals – a director of finance and office manager and a technology/office assistant – provide the staff and member school systems support assuring quality service.
