Stephen
Clements became the Director of CPD in the summer of 2007. Previously, Dr. Clements served as a program coordinator for the federal Teacher Quality
Enhancement Grant at the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board
in Frankfort. In his current role at UK, he takes part in funded research
and policy projects for the state education agencies and through the
IER. At present, he also helps manage a value-added assessment initiative
of the College of Education, and will be involved in the Ed.D. program
in community college leadership that will begin in 2007. In addition,
he has some graduate teaching responsibilities in Educational Policy
Studies and Evaluation, the department of which he is a member. His academic
background is in political science (M.A., Ph.D., University of Chicago),
and he has spent most of his career working in and around education policy
and politics. He has published numerous monographs, book chapters, and
white papers on aspects of education in Kentucky. Prior to his recent
positions with UK and the EPSB, he worked for the Kentucky Long-Term
Policy Research Center, the U.S. Department of Education in Washington,
D.C., and the Vanderbilt Institute for Public Policy Studies. |

Laura
Harris, Administrative Support Assistant, has been with the university
since 1998 and joined the CPD staff in January, 2005. She works closely
with Principal Investigators
(PI’s)
in providing post-award grant and contract management services including
project planning, budgeting and account administration. She provides
liaison with College Contracts and Grants Office, OSP and UKRF to ensure
that projects administered by IER are in compliance with pertinent
agency and University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. |

Jaime
Guerrero, Research Assistant, is a first year Ph.D. student in the
College of Education's Counseling Psychology Program at the University of
Kentucky. He received his Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology at
the University of Denver in 1999 and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology
from Santa Clara University in 1997. He presently is working on the Differentiated
Compensation Program Evaluation Project and with Dr. Eric Anderman, Associate
Dean for Research and Graduate Studies.

Dee Beeler Jones is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Education's Educational Policy and Evaluation Progam. She received her Master Degree in Secondary Education in 2001 and Bachelor Degrees in Communication (1983) and Secondary Education, English (1993), all from UK. Ms. Jones joined the CPD in the summer of 2007 as project coordinator. Previously, Ms. Jones served as a program coordinator for the federal Teacher Quality Enhancement Grant at the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board in Frankfort. An experienced classroom teacher, she has also worked with the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program for ten years, and continues to develop and lead KTIP training sessions. Her doctoral research is in the area of teacher professional development..
