UK College of Education

50 States and U.S. Territories
Association, Board,
Certification and
Regulations

In an effort to facilitate the movement from one state to another, the UK Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology will attempt to collect information for counselors on on certification, administrative regulations, state boards, and state associations for the 50 States. We recognize that States are continually revising their counselor laws and regulations. The links will give you an idea about the state professional association, the work of the counselor governing board, the law (e.g., scope of practice and reporting responsibilites), and the details of the laws implementation.
This page is intended to help you gather planning information on states of your choice! Good luck in your search!!

If in the course of your own search for counselor licensure laws and regulations, state boards, or state associations, you find a better URL for a State or you find an unlisted State's URL, please send your information to Bill Stilwell. Thank you for your cooperation. Other information may be found from the American Counseling Association or the National Board for Certified Counselors.

More information on the UK programs can be found at the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology.
