Assignment

Write a three part one to two page paper on an ethical issue related to practice of psychology. The paper should have a brief paragraph on the practice of career psychology/career counseling, a section on the Principles, and a section on the Standards. OR

Write a two page paper, if possible, on the laws and regulations related to career counseling in your home state. Provide any URLs for laws and regulations related to career counseling.

Talk About Assignment

When you engage in career counseling you will have many different ethical challenges given to you. An an employee of a company or agency, for example, you might have specific goals set for you by your agency or company. For another example, you might have an employee client whose behavior violates corporate code, but does not violate your code. For a third example, you might have coworkers in your office who fail to manage client records to the same standards as required by you, your employer or APA. In these situations you will call upon your knowlege of APA ethical guidelines and standards.

In preparing your assignment you will want to explore and understand the content of the APA Ethical Principles. Many different issues are covered in this document and some of those issues have impinged upon you. When you find an issue for more examination, start your write up. Please limit yourself to two pages. Should this topic and assignment not be to your liking, do the following assignment:

Write a two page paper on the laws related to career counseling, i.e., functioning not as a psychologist. The two page paper includes the law, the related administrative regulations, and how you believe the two would influence your practice. For the state, choose the state of your birth.

This assignment will be your second writing assignment for me so I want you to submit the document as an attachment. Please use the file name format as follows: EDP666YourName#2. In so doing I will be able to comment on your document without using a pencil!
