Sport Management Mission Statement

The overall mission of the graduate program in sport management is to provide education and training, conduct research and scholarly activity, and offer consulting and community services related to the management of organized sport, primarily in, but not limited to, the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Pursuant to this mission, two levels of graduate education are offered: the Master's' and Doctoral degree programs.

.The specific mission of the Master's degree program is to prepare sport managers who are competent to apply current and innovative sport management practices in a variety of employment settings where organized sport is delivered.

.The specific mission of the Doctoral program is to prepare college/university educators and researchers capable of conducting scholarly activity in the area of sport management.
