Dr. Loretta J. Bradley is a Paul Whitfield Horn Professor and Coordinator of Counselor Education at Texas Tech University. The Horn Professorship is an endowed professorship representing the highest academic honor awarded to a faculty member at Texas Tech University. Prior to her faculty position at Texas Tech University, she was an Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University and an Assistant Dean at Temple University. She earned her Ph.D. at Purdue University. Dr. Bradley is Past-President of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the world’s largest counseling association and a Past-President of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). In 2003, she was named Texas Counselor Educator of the Year.

Dr. Bradley has authored or co-authored 7 books and more than 150 journal articles and conference presentations. She was co-recipient of the 2004 Research Award from the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy. She is the first American to receive this award. Additionally, Dr. Bradley has received national research awards from the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Counselor Education (ACES). Her book, Counselor Supervision: Principles, Process and Practice, received the Publication Award from the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. In 2004 and 2005, Dr. Bradley was an invited lecturer in Shanghai, China. In 2003, Dr. Bradley was selected as one of the top 25 counselors who have made significant contributions to the counseling profession from 1952-2001. The 25 counselors were featured in the book, Legends and Legacies. She was an invited participant at the Rosalyn Carter Mental Health Symposium at the Carter Presidential Center (1997 & 1998) and an invited participant at the White House Conference on Mental Health Issues chaired by Tipper Gore (1999).

Dr. Bradley is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-TX), LPC-Supervisor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-TX) and an LMFT-Supervisor. She holds certification as a teacher and school counselor.
