Named to the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2000 

Educating children and youth is the driving force in the professional career of Dr. Marlene M. Helm.  Dr. Helm has served as an elementary classroom teacher, a school district administrator, and a college instructor.  In 1999, Governor Patton appointed Dr. Helm as secretary of Kentucky’s Education, Arts, and Humanities Cabinet.  Dr. Helm received her master’s degree as a reading specialist and her doctorate in educational administration.
