UK College of Education Laurel Martin named full time COE development director

Dean James G. Cibulka recently announced the hiring of Laurel Raimondo Martin as the College of Education’s new full-time director of development. She began work in mid-January.

Martin is a 1990 graduate from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s of science degree. She went on to earn a master’s degree from the University of Iowa in 1993 and has successfully defended her dissertation proposal within the Department of Leadership, Organization and Policy at the Peabody College of Education at Vanderbilt University.

In previous professional positions, she has served as a reunion and regional gift officer for Vanderbilt University and been involved in capital campaigns as the Executive Director for Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and in her most recent position at Eastern Kentucky University.

In addition to Martin’s appointment, Lindsey Clem was hired to assist with managing the College of Education’s office of development, public relations, and student activities. Clem graduated magna cum laude last spring from Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in communications with an emphasis on public relations and advertising as well as minors in both psychology and business administration. UK is her first professional appointment. Laurel Martin and Lindsey Clem will be located in 133 Dickey Hall along with Mary Ann Vimont, Director of Student, Alumni and Community Affairs and Josh Shepherd, Information Specialist.
