An associate dean with the UK College of Education was recently elected president of one of the divisions of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Dr. Eric Anderman, associate dean for research and graduate studies, received the announcement of his election in early July. He will serve as president of APA Division 15 - Educational Psychology.

The APA is composed of approximately 55 divisions, or professional groups, whose members are specialists in one of the numerous branches of the study of Psychology. These divisions provide opportunities for colleagues with mutual interests to collaborate on a variety of research initiatives. Divisions often join forces to explore ways in which each discipline may provide mutual support, offer new perspectives, and advance the field with the development of new knowledge.

As President-Elect, Anderman will lead researchers in the educational psychology division and encourage participation in APA work groups advancing the field of psychology at local, regional, national, and international levels.
